50 Ways to Hygge the British Way… I’ve only gone and done it.

Chutzpah 1

I had bad indigestion last night and I couldn’t sleep. Perhaps I should stay up late more often??? Because, as the guinea pigs scuttled around beside me and I burped endlessly through a haze of Gaviscon (I love Gaviscon, especially the aniseed flavour) I worked on my book. That’s my book I have been going to write since I was 5 or at least since Christmas, when it struck me that perhaps I had a book on hygge in me.

I’d like to announce: 50 Ways to Hygge the British Way is now available on Amazon for pre-order. I finished it and uploaded it and set a release date (17th March: St Patrick’s Day, because I’m half Irish and I believe in lucky days) and did the cover and everything that goes into self-publishing on Amazon. I have indulged in flagrant self-publicity on Facebook and Twitter (but not Instagram yet. Must remember to do that) and enjoyed the support of friends and colleagues who, whether they like hygge or not, say they’ll buy it.

Weirdly, I have been working on files all through this. Proof that hygge isn’t 24/7 but fits nicely into the corners of your life.

Next question: do I quit while I’m ahead, or shall I write more? Actually writing the book was a great deal of fun, so up my street. But is hygge dead and gone??? Who will want hygge when the days are long and the sun shines down?

And now a word from our sponsors.

You can now follow me on Bloglovin as well . I post on social media as How to Hygge the British Way on Facebook.I’m also on Twitter and Instagram and as a member of The Hygge Nook on Facebook as well.

My book, 50 Ways to Hygge the British Way will be available on March 17th and is available to pre-order now from Amazon. I can’t do signed copies. Yet.

****How to Hygge the British Way Blog isn’t monetised. I have taken the decision that I want to remain neutral and not to promote things just because. I will only ever review items that I have bought myself, or that I think will help to promote hygge in a busy life. To do this, I need support. Even just the price of a coffee adds up to a book over time, and it means I can stay independent. Would you help? Please consider clicking through to paypal.me/HyggeJem and leaving even a small amount. I’d be very grateful. Thank you.***

  1. Congratulations! Now a published (or soon to be) author – I am green with envy!
You’ll have to write a series now – next book ‘How to Hygge in the Sun’. Or ‘A Hyggelig British Summer’ (picnics in the park, barbeques…) xx
