A Self Care Christmas Day 4: Christmas on the Computer

Change your Computer Wallpaper and Phone Lockscreen for something Seasonal and Inspirational.

It’s a fair bet that you will be looking at your computer, phone, tablet or other electronic device for some period of time over Christmas. It only seems reasonable to make that as Happy Christmas as you can. Why not find an image of Christmas that speaks to you (holy or unholy, modern or vintage) and make it your desktop or phone background? Then every time you log in or on you can be hit with a reminder of the reason for the season, whatever that is for you.

Making a screensaver for the phone, computer or whatever is quite easy if you use an online quote programme. I like Quotes Cover, since I find it easy to use and it offers a variety of dimensions so you can create a cover for your Facebook, Twitter and other social media. For instance, I created the Lockscreen for my mobile below (I used the Iphone 6 dimensions) in a few minutes.

Christmas Isnt a Season its a feeling Mobile lock screen

Wallpaper for the desktop can often carry a quote, where the backing screen of a mobile phone can’t. Just search Brainy Quotes or Goodreads for quotes about Christmas and choose the ones that speak to you. For a background picture, I use Pixabay, searching for pictures on the theme I am interested in and download for free. Keep your search terms as open as possible and you will get a wide variety. The bauble below came up in a simple search for ‘Christmas’.

He who has not Christmas in his heart

Often a collage of past Christmases makes for an appealing wallpaper background. It also reminds you of the good times ahead, so you feel happier.

I still haven’t quite decided what to go for this year. I like the mobile lock screen above, but my work laptop and home laptop both need wallpaper. I’ll think about it. Perhaps I’ve not yet met the Christmas quote of the year…

Christmas is a tonic

Quotes play a major role in my books.

A good quote, well illustrated, is worth a thousand clunky words. It doesn’t stop me writing the words as well, though. Have you seen my books? They’re all available from Amazon.

50 Ways to Hygge the British WayĀ Ā is available inĀ PaperbackĀ andĀ KindleĀ version and so isĀ How to Hygge Your Summer, again inĀ PaperbackĀ andĀ KindleĀ form, from Amazon.

If you purchase through the links on this page, I get a couple of pence extra per copy, and if you’ve already read them and enjoyed them, please leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads. I have a Goodreads Author’s Page!

My blog is on Facebook asĀ How to Hygge the British WayĀ and you can now follow me onĀ BloglovinĀ as well. I’m personally also onĀ InstagramĀ and as a member ofĀ The Hygge NookĀ on Facebook.

****How to Hygge the British Way Blog isn’t monetised. I have taken the decision that I want to remain neutral and not to promote things just because. I will only ever review items that I have bought myself, or that I think will help to promote hygge in a busy life. To do this, I need support. Even just the price of a coffee adds up to a book over time, and it means I can stay independent. Would you help? Please consider clicking through toĀ paypal.me/HyggeJemĀ and leaving even a small amount. I’d be very grateful. Thank you.***
