Hygge was made to share.

One of the threads I have loved watching on the Hygge Nook on Facebook is the Hygge Box thread, or I should say several hygge box threads. The Hygge Nookworms, kind, caring people that they are, decided to start swapping boxes between themselves. They have really gone to town on contents, with cards, books, crafts, chocolate, food, candles, smellies and all sorts of lovely stuff flying around. Some to the same country, others flying across oceans to be opened and enjoyed.

Readers will know that I’ve tried most hygge boxes out there and written reviews of them, and hygge boxes, when bought, are gorgeous… don’t get me wrong, I love getting the mail and opening and seeing what’s inside…. but these parcels of joy haven’t been planned months in advance or had discounts carefully negotiated. They don’t have luxury written all over them.

They’ve been organised, bought and sent by ordinary people who just wanted to spread the hygge. I think that’s even lovelier.

Hygge was made to be shared. And watching the Nookworms sharing their hygge with each other has made me happier. Thank you, Nookworms, for being such an uplifting bunch to hang around with.

And are you new to hygge? If so, hanging out with the Hygge Nook on Facebook is a lovely thing to do. Mostly everyday there are quotes, pictures, hygge love being spread around the world. Just click and ask to join.

You don’t need a reminder that my book, 50 Ways to Hygge the British Way  is available in Paperback and Kindle version from Amazon. I’ve been delighted with the response so far: 5 star reviews on Amazon are worth their weight in gold.

The contents of the blog are entirely different from the blog, so don’t worry that it’s just posts rehashed. Not yet, anyway. If you purchase through the links on this page, I get a couple of pence extra per copy.

My blog is on Facebook as How to Hygge the British Way and you can now follow me on Bloglovin as well. I’m personally also on Twitter and Instagram and as a member of The Hygge Nook on Facebook.

****How to Hygge the British Way Blog isn’t monetised. I have taken the decision that I want to remain neutral and not to promote things just because. I will only ever review items that I have bought myself, or that I think will help to promote hygge in a busy life. To do this, I need support. Even just the price of a coffee adds up to a book over time, and it means I can stay independent. Would you help? Please consider clicking through to paypal.me/HyggeJem and leaving even a small amount. I’d be very grateful. Thank you.***

  1. Having been part of a hygge swap box I can say how joyful the experience has been – to take the time to collect things for people across in USA has been a pleasure. It made me feel very special to know that two people (strangers who are now friends) took time out to not only collect things just for me, but to make me a unique tea-pot and cup. A pleasure to give and receive. x
